Parenting 101: A Mother and Teacher of 30 Years Shares Her Best Parenting Lessons to Raise Happy, Healthy, Responsible, and Successful Children From A to Z

If you want to learn more about this topic, then visit www.howexpert.com/parenting101.

The subject of child rearing reaches across all boundaries – regional, socio-economic, educational, religious, and so on. The need for parenting skills and access to helpful resources is universal. Everyone who reproduces needs to get this one thing right.

Although social scientists may debate the theories regarding “Nature vs. Nurture,” no one would ever discount the belief that how a child turns out in the end is greatly influenced by how that child was raised. If one has chosen to bring another human being into the world, then he must agree to abide by the social contract that he will fulfill his duty to that child. Too many parents neglect this sacred trust.

We can share anecdotes all day long about the exceptions, to be sure. We all know adults who came from stable homes with attentive parents who provided well in every way, yet they have been unable to transition into adulthood to perform as functioning citizens. We can also point to people who grew up in the most dismal of circumstances as children of people who should never have reproduced, yet they have become well-adjusted and even happy members of society. Despite the exceptions, though, one thing is certain; everyone carries something of his upbringing into adulthood, whether it be happy memories or some emotional baggage which he may or may not try to keep cleverly hidden.

The burden of parenting is so much more than successfully fulfilling the tasks of keeping our offspring clothed, fed, and sheltered. Most parents go well beyond securing the basic life needs of their children, anyway, yet it still may not be sufficient. Children come to us as helpless and totally dependent beings. Loving parents will want to do more than simply get this infant to adulthood alive and in one piece! A reasonable adult would like to see his children grow to be mature and responsible, self-supporting, successful, contributing citizens who will add value to the world.

That goal does not happen by accident. Nor is it likely to be achieved by providing only the basic essentials of life support.

Child rearing requires attentive supervision and purposeful intervention.  It is a 24/7 venture for a number of years, often somewhat past the legally requisite 18.  Raising kids is hard work! Moreover, although parents – even successful ones – will make a lot of mistakes along the way, the process as a whole should not be a practice in trial and error. A parent gets one shot to get this right. There are no do-overs in parenting. Children are irreparably damaged by irresponsible approaches to child rearing. The cost is too high, not only to the child, but to society as a whole, when parents don’t get it right.

All in all, parenting is a job to be taken seriously. It is rewarding yet often difficult. The task is further complicated by the fact that no two children are exactly alike, even within the same family. Often, a single parenting approach or method will not suffice, as adjustments must be made to best serve individual children. The “one-size-fits-all” ideology rarely works when dealing with kids. Parents must add a measure of flexibility to their methodologies. Most can benefit from resources and should seek them out. There is no shame in seeking help. A bit of humility goes a long ways.

Let all be done in the best interest of the child. He did not ask to be here. That is on the parent.

Cocktails 101: A Mixologist’s Quick Guide to Mixing, Matching, Making, and Mastering the Art of Creating Amazing Cocktails

If you want to learn more about this topic, then visit www.howexpert.com/cocktails.

What it is about mixing cocktails that gets the blood pumping, I can’t quite say. Is it the speed of it? The loudness? The satisfaction from serving a damn fine drink? Is it the pressure? Who can say. I think, for everyone, it’s a little different. For me, it’s handing a drink to someone and watching their face when they discover how delicious it is. There’s no better reward for a mixologist than that, because beyond the pay, or the fame, it’s that which makes us tick.

We do this because we love it, and that’s all there is to it. Sure, there are those out there who do it for the money, but they aren’t the real mixers and shakers.

If you want to be a mixologist, then it takes time, effort, and passion. You have to like the industry, and love the drinks themselves. You have to have that eye, and that desire, to turn spirits and ingredients overpowering or bland alone into a coalescence of taste and beauty. It’s an art as much as a skill, and it takes someone truly dedicated to master it as both.

If you want to start off, then you’re going to have learn a lot about drinks, first of all (but don’t worry, because this book will get you there). And, after you’ve done, that, and sampled as many cocktails as you can, and gained a liking for all spirits, then you need to get a bar job and learn the trade. Learn how to pour a mixer, how to identify a glass, how to sell a drink to someone. Learn what it is to be behind a bar, and what it’s like to remember sixteen drink orders at once, taking more while you’re making the last. And once you’ve got that down, you can cast your eyes to the shiny Boston cans and bar spoons sticking out of the jar on the corner of the top.

And it’s at this point, that you’re ready to get started – and I mean, really get started. As wonderful as this book is, and as vital as it will be in the formation of your mixology career, this craft is as much about self-education as it is about learning at the knee of a master. And, honestly, to be a damn good mixologist, you don’t need to compete in the world series, and you don’t need to open a chain of renowned cocktail bars. All you need to do, is focus on your craft, and deliver sensational drinks to your customers. And, if you do it right, they will anoint you. You’ll get noticed, and then someone will come along and offer you a job, and you can move up if you want, or not. At that point, it’s on you, and it’s up to you what you do with your skill. But, no matter what you do, or where you go – always know that at the end of the day, in this art, the only person accountable for your actions is you. Keep the craft in the front of your mind, and you’ll do fine.

Forensic Psychology 101: A Quick Guide That Teaches You the Top Key Lessons About Forensic Psychology from A to Z

If you want to learn more about this topic, then visit www.howexpert.com/forensic.

What is Forensic psychology?

The mere mention of the word “forensic” could lead some individuals to a fantastic view of crime scene investigators and profilers working diligently to solve a crime and bring the culprit to justice.

However, although this media portrayal is indeed entertaining, it is a far cry from the roles and objectives that the sub-specialty of forensic psychology entails.

Before we can view the basics of forensic psychology, we must first review what the field of general psychology entails. Psychology refers to the application of the scientific method towards the study of behavior. In other words, the goal of psychology is to make use of scientific standards as a means to understand behavior. Later, through the revision and scrutiny of this data, also known as peer review, the information is applied to predict behavior and assist with assessment and treatment.

Now, the term forensic refers to matters that are within the legal system. As such, forensic psychology is the application of psychology in law enforcement, the judicial system, and corrections. In civil court, forensic psychology can be used to deal with persons facing child custody disputes, assessment of disability claims, harassment trials among others. Furthermore, forensic practitioners could work with records review for a court or an attorney to analyze potential sources of evidence in a case prior, during and after litigation.

Forensic psychologists can help law enforcement during the recruitment process and treatment of police officers and military service members. In the same way, forensic psychology could be applied to assist in an ongoing criminal investigation. These processes could include crime analysis and suspect profiling.

In criminal court, a forensic psychologist could work in cases where the individual might be deemed unfit to stand trial or not guilty for reason of insanity. This type or role involves determining if a defendant can understand the proceedings and if he or she is capable of assisting in his or her defense. Likewise, if a person confesses to a crime and claims to be guilty of a given offense, a forensic psychologist might be called upon to evaluate whether or not a person was able to make such claim. If the person is then sentenced to death, forensic psychologists could conduct evaluations as to whether capital punishment is suitable provided that no severely diminished cognitive capacity is present.

Consider a person that must serve a sentence in a correctional facility. In this setting, a forensic psychologist could be part of the eclectic team that provides assessment and intake services to serve the needs of the inmate best. Similarly, some forensic psychologists can also work as mental health providers by providing therapy or those paying debts to society. Additionally, practitioners could develop and provide treatment plans for the person’s rehabilitation while incarcerated, upon release, and after such sentences have been served or paroled.

Therefore, to comply with these roles as well as other referrals, forensic psychologists make use of myriad tools and skills that are geared to towards the application of psychology and the law.

Professional Tennis Player 101: A Quick Guide on How to Become the Best Tennis Player You Can Be and Achieve Your Dreams of Becoming a Professional From A to Z

If you want to learn more about this topic, then visit www.howexpert.com/tennisplayer.

Tennis has undoubtedly become one of the most successful and global sports on the planet. Despite its continuing, and somewhat deserved, middle-class reputation, professional tennis now attracts competitors from every corner of the planet, and the second week of Grand Slam tournaments usually feature a multitude of nations represented. What began as a polite distraction on the lawns of the aristocracy has morphed into a highly competitive battleground.

And with this global reputation has come big money. The most prestigious tournament, Wimbledon, has increased its total prize money pot to £34 million for 2018. While all of the top players on the planet pull in many more millions in endorsements and sponsorship. According to a Forbes article published in May, 2017, Roger Federer has earned an estimated $625 million during his nearly two-decade career from sponsorship alone.

With such rich rewards at the top of the professional game, it is almost inevitable that many ambitious young people and parents end up avariciously eyeing tennis as a promising career. This had led to the creation of numerous high profile tennis academies, dotted around all over the Western world. These academies, rubber-stamped by such luminaries as Rafael Nadal, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Patrick Mouratoglou, purport to turn teenagers into winners, while also providing high-caliber private education as well.

But there's a price to pay for this tip-top tennis tuition. The top academies cost quite a pretty penny. For example, the Rafael Nadal academy in Mallorca charges incumbents €56,000 ($65,000) per year for a combination of tennis and academic tuition. Clearly this is a pretty serious investment for everyone other than the super-rich, yet many are willing to make it, believing that their child come become the next Nadal as a result.

While the academies will release public statements tempering such expectations, the reality is that they are also reliant on a certain tranche of parents believing that their children will become tennis champions by attending. Why else are you shelling out a sum significantly greater than the average salary in the United States, when you could just send you kids to a top private school instead?

Such dreams do come true, but they also don't come true considerably more often! While the biggest academies can boast a handful of success stories, the vast majority of young people who pass through them don't come close to becoming professional tennis players.

It is also important to note that many of the true greats of the game succeeded in maximizing their talent and potential without ever attending an academy. Perhaps the most obvious example is that of the Williams sisters, who were withdrawn from competitive tournament tennis and coaching during their adolescence.

The reality is that there is no shortcut to success in tennis, and no magical elixir that can be consumer at some swanky academy. Success in tennis is based on a combination of determined practice, systematic drilling of strokes and movement, genetic potential, and the sheer love of the game required to keep you playing with commitment. And those basic principles are the key for improvement at all levels of play.

The sense of smell can give one's body wonderful responses. Essential oils absorbed by the olfactory nerve very quickly. So they are especially powerful effect via the aromatic application. Polymer Clay 2.0: How to Make Polymer Clay Items and Learn Everything You Need to Know About Polymer Clay Basics for Beginners From A to Z

If you want to learn more about this topic, then visit www.howexpert.com/polymerclay1.

This is your first polymer clay craft! It is a cute and fun craft that will take you no time at all.

First, find some polymer clay in a variety of colors. I bought a big bag with over 36 colors on Amazon. Check online or local craft shops to find this affordable and non-toxic material. The more colors, the better!

You don’t need much in the way of supplies. You need a working oven or toaster oven, and your fingers. That’s it! There is no need to raid your local craft store’s entire clay aisle. This craft is pretty easy to do just with your fingers and nothing else.

Now, let’s begin with this simple and easy craft!

  1. Choose how big you want your piece to be. Generally, I would make it about four by four inches. This is a good size for decorations.
  2. Pinch off a good chunk of brown or yellow clay, about two by two. Start to roll between your palms to get it warm and pliable.
  3. Begin to pinch the clay out from the center, creating a flat disc. Pinch the sides up. This creates your fruit bowl.
  4. Now it’s time to make the fruit. We will start with an orange. Using a tiny pinch orange clay, rub it into a perfect ball between your palms. Take a cheesecloth and press it all over the ball, creating the rough texture of an orange peel.
  5. Now make your watermelon slice. Roll a pinch of dark green clay between your palms to create a tube. Then make a disc of red. Cut it with a bottle cap to create a perfect circle and wrap the green clay around it. Cut this disc in half. Dip a sewing needle in black clay and prick the red a few times to create seeds.
  6. Take pale green clay. Roll ten balls between your fingertips. They need to be really tiny! Smush four together in a row, then smush a row of three under that. Then two, then one, to create a bunch of grapes.
  7. Now it’s time for the pineapple. This is your largest fruit out of the others. Pinch yellow into a gourd shape. Then roll three green leaves in your fingertips to make the tall leaves. Smush it into the top of the pineapple. Score it with a needle and then use the needle to add brown clay to the score marks.
  8. Set all the fruit in the bowl. Holding it between your fingers, dip it in a bowl of resin to submerge it. Use a brush to evenly disperse the resin everywhere on the piece.
  9. Bake for an hour at 350.
  10. Now you have a clay fruit bowl that is indestructible to the elements!

What can you use a clay fruit bowl for? Well, you can use it as a cute decoration for your kitchen or dining room, to inspire others to eat fresh fruit. You can make it and sell it to others looking for cute kitchen décor. Or you can gift it to someone who just really loves fruit. Consider selling it on consignment to a store that sells organic fruit, or a store that sells unique collectibles. Finally, you can use it as a promotion for a polymer clay business, to show off your skills for custom polymer clay designs. The possibilities are as limitless as they are with this craft!
